Wishlist Wednesday #1: The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde

So I’m really excited to do this because this is the first time that I’m doing a blog hop! I think it’s really fun and I decided to just do one every other week. I have a lot of books in my TBR pile and that’s why I picked Wishlist Wednesday!

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it’s entirely up to you), that we can’t wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves. It’s hosted by Pen to Paper.

Genre: Mystery
Published: February 25, 2003 by Penguin Books
Series: #1 (Thursday Next)
Length: 374 pages

” Welcome to a surreal version of Great Britain, circa 1985, where time travel is routine, cloning is a reality (dodos are the resurrected pet of choice), and literature is taken very, very seriously. England is a virtual police state where an aunt can get lost (literally) in a Wordsworth poem, militant Baconians heckle performances of Hamlet, and forging Byronic verse is a punishable offense. All this is business as usual for Thursday Next, renowned Special Operative in literary detection, until someone begins kidnapping characters from works of literature. When Jane Eyre is plucked from the pages of BrontΓ«’s novel, Thursday must track down the villain and enter the novel herself to avert a heinous act of literary homicide. “

So for my Sophomore year in high school, we had to do an independent reading per quarter and I was assigned to read one of Jasper Fforde’s nursery crime books The Big Over Easy for the second quarter and The Fourth Bear for the first quarter. I know you guys are like why did she put the second quarter book first? It’s cause I typed The Big Over Easy first and I didn’t feel like retyping or copying and pasting it after The Fourth Bear. Bleh. Lol. Okay. Those two books were brilliantly written and there was (literally) a lot of twists in like every freakin page especially the ending (omg). After reading those two books I stalked searched Jasper Fforde on Goodreads and saw that he had a freakin book about Jane Eyre!!! And Jane Eyre is my all time favorite classics book. I know I would totally enjoy reading The Eyre Affair because I could relate and use Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte as a reference. Also I love books published by Penguin (: Teehee. So what book is on YOUR wishlist? Let me know by commenting below. Thanks for reading guys!
