It’s been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam’s life forever.

Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard’s rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia’s home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future-and each other.”

Guess who read this in 1 sitting for 3 hours? ME!

Wow, when I was reading the last page, the only thing I had in mind was for this book to not end. It’s beautifully written and the songs that the author came up with were just fantastic. The writing style was really good as well; the pacing was smooth and the characters were really relatable and realistic. In Where She Went, Adam, Mia’s boyfriend in If I Stay, is the one narrating the story. There were a lot of flashbacks, but there was also a lot of present day scenes. He tells us what happens after Mia wakes up from her coma.

I love how music has a big part in the story. On some of the chapters, the author puts a verse under
“CHAPTER ONE”
*insert a verse of Adam’s awesome song here* *track #*
The lyrics were just beautiful and you could feel what Adam was going through through his songs. I also like the album’s title which is Collateral Damage.

Even though it had a happy ending, this book made me feel sad. I guess it’s because the characters went through a lot of things, and this book had a lot of reminiscence. Overall, I definitely recommend you reading this book, but it’s better to read it if you’re in the right mood.. maybe when you’re feeling lonely. You could easily what the characters are feeling, and I love how music plays an important part in the story.

I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as If I Stay, but it is wonderful, isn’t it? I really felt for Adam. He suffered as much from the accident as Mia did, but I think it’s easy to overlook his grief for Mia’s, and that really showed in this one.

I love when books integrate music. It doesn’t happen often, so it’s really refreshing when it does. I haven’t read this one — I fear that I’ll cry a lot, so I’ve stayed clear (like you said, you prob have to be in the right mood). But I love your review, Leigh!
