I was going to do this survey, but I may have to sit out on it. I did top ten lists all week, and I think it would be better to post reviews instead.

I’m also really looking forward to reading Salvage, mostly because I was declined for it twice on Edelweiss before HC finally decided to autoapprove me. Great survey, Leigh. 🙂 I hope the rest of your year is awesome!

I’m not judging you, but I can’t believe you waited until 2013 to read Catching Fire. 😛

I think I recommended The F-It List most as well as All the Truth That’s In Me.

I love the Across the Universe covers. Well, the first two at least. It made me so sad that they redesigned them because the first covers were gorgeous and the new ones are just meh.

AHAHA JUDGE ME ALL YOU WANT. I honestly can’t believe it either!!!!! I still haven’t read Mockingjay…I’m scared because people said it was disappointing? I guess I’ll read it when the movie’s closer. Dude, I was SO sad when Shades of Earth did not match the first two amazing covers. 😦 I like the old covers better. I think they redesigned it because the old covers reveals too much about the plot.

Hahah I let people judge me about the fact that I haven’t finished nor plan on finishing the Harry Potter Series. But, yes, Mockingjay didn’t quite live up to what I had expected. It is still a really great book, but it felt different than the others. So much happens so fast… but I still recommend you read it! I guess I could see how the old covers did reveal a lot about the plot. 😦 But, it seems like the new covers were also designed to be more “boy-friendly” which I think is a major reason a lot of books get cover changes. I think I will probably post a discussion about this one day.

      • 6 Leigh (LittleBookStar) December 29, 2013 at 5:34 PM

I’ve never even touched a Harry Potter book…. SOMEDAY though…Someday I will read them! Ahh, I see why they changed it. Yes, you should write a discussion on it, I will rant and rant and rant on the comments haha 🙂

      • 7 Arial at In Italics December 29, 2013 at 5:42 PM

That makes me feel better about my confession!

It’s decided then! I will write that rant, I mean “discussion”, so you can feel free to rant right back in the comments. 🙂

ahaha *cough chough* it’s a rant 😉 yesssssss I will keep my eyes on it!

I’ve seen quite a few other bloggers also set limits for themselves for buying books in 2014. I haven’t been blogging for a full year, but I’ve already seen a drastic rise in the number of books I buy. Gahh I may have to set a similar goal for myself too :/

I’m glad you enjoyed Across the Universe! That’s on my tbr shelf. Hopefully I’ll have time to pick it up soon =)

Just curious, why didn’t you like The Fault in our Stars that much? Did you review it? Can you link me to the review?

  5. 13 Book Nerd December 31, 2013 at 7:22 AM

Wonder was such a good book, that one I still remember from reading it two years ago. I’m glad I’m not the only one that didn’t enjoy The Fault in our Stars. I didn’t get the hype either. Even I didn’t like The Selection as much, that cover is too gorgeous. That dress is beautiful!

  6. 14 Book Nerd December 31, 2013 at 7:26 AM

Ooh I might have to check out the F it List. This is the second time I heard it being amazing. I loved the Across the Universe trilogy. I also remember Wonder because it was one of those books that stayed with you. I’m glad I’m not the only black sheep and didn’t enjoy The Fault in Our Stars. I love the cover of The One. That dress is so beautiful and the girlie girl in me is flailing!

    • 15 Leigh (LittleBookStar) December 31, 2013 at 10:16 AM

YES, you have to read The F-It List. It was a very funny yet sad read. I know, Wonder has a special place in my heart. Yeah TFIOS didn’t really wow me like others. By the time I finished reading I was like ‘that’s it….’… kind of feeling. Yup, The One has a gorgeous cover and I can’t wait to read it. 😀

  7. 16 Abbe Hinder December 31, 2013 at 9:42 PM

Most of the books you put down are ones that I haven’t read. But I need to read them all! Especially Cinder, Across the Universe, and Wonder! Wonder looks beautiful. Nice job!

    • 17 Leigh (LittleBookStar) December 31, 2013 at 11:22 PM

PLEASE READ ACROSS THE UNIVERSE. That’s like my life LOL. Hands down to that trilogy. I think it’s best to read those books during winter. Also, ugh, Wonder was amazing! I cried several times because of the beautiful writing style and characters. Cinder was an awesome book as well! It’s such a great re-telling of Cinderella and has a very creative world.

I loved Cinder great choice! Happy New Year!

I loved Every Day!! It was an amazing book I read for my bookclub this year. wow!! How cool that you are getting books from Edelweiss. I haven’t been approved for any!

Here is my end of year survey:

    • 20 Leigh (LittleBookStar) January 4, 2014 at 8:32 PM

Yes, it was such an amazing and unique book! Oh I remember when I signed up for Edelweiss and didn’t get any books for like months! The only books I receive from there are from Harper Collins b/c they auto approved me.
