Your Bookmark Preference {Discuss #15}

discuss

Hey everyone! I’m back with another discussion post, and this time, it’s about your bookmark preference! Do you prefer a certain style of bookmark? Or do you not care at all what type of bookmark you use? First, here are some of the type of bookmarks out there.

Metal Charm Bookmark

// buy it here + photo credits//

I have never used a bookmark that has this style, and I feel like I’m going to lose it if I do purchase one because it can easily fall. It reminds me of a rope which is why I think it will be easy for it to fall out of place and lose your current page. I do, however, like the owl. Besides the owl, it can also have different designs such as letters.

Page Corner Bookmarks

I’m so amazed by other people’s DIY (do it yourself) skills! I’ll definitely try to make my own corner bookmark one day. They’re so convenient, plus, you can personally design it.

Popsicle Bookmarks

// learn how to make one here + photo credits //

These are sooo cute! I love how you can basically do your own popsicle bookmark without having to buy anything except for a popsicle icecream (YUM) and maybe some paint and fancy materials to make your popsicle bookmark look cool!

Ribbon Bookmarks

I’m not a fan of this one either. I just feel like it’ll slide and fall off easily.

Magnetic Bookmarks

// buy it here + photo credits //

This is the type of bookmark I currently use. The designs are so cute and it’s so easy to mark my page.

3D Bookmarks

// buy it here + photo credits //

I’m not really a fan of 3D bookmarks for some reason. I just don’t find them attractive.

Promotional Bookmarks

These bookmarks are the ones where the bookmark promotes a book/series and it has the summary and some info about the author.

(sorry I’m too lazy to take a picture lol) but here’s a link to a picture of it from my twitter (click here).

Post-it or a piece of paper

// photo credit //

Sometimes I just use post-its or a scrap of paper if I cannot find any of my bookmarks or if I feel lazy getting one. Here’s a cool post-it I found on the interwebs. 🙂

So what about you? What’s your preference(s)?

    I like the ribbon, metal charms, and page corner (although I’ve never had onw) bookmars. This was a creative post, I like it! You should definitely do more like this 😉

    I’m definitely a random scrap of paper kind of gal, but if I have one, I’ll use the promotional bookmark for a certain book. 🙂 If I weren’t so scared of losing them, I would love to have some pretty bookmarks, though. 🙂 I loved the corner bookmarks and the owl one!

    I’ve never seen half of these bookmarks, haha!
    I have two favourites, though. My first isn’t on here, but it’s like the 3D bookmark without the 3D. So just a pretty picture with a tastle on the end. I have a few (hundred) of these. In fact I used to collect them ;D
    And the other ones I like are just the pieces of card (which I guess are kind of like promotional ones), like the ones TBD sends for free! It’s so easy to just stick it in a book once I receive it in the mail! ^.^

      Me too! When I was composing this post, I was trying to search for as many type of bookmarks as possible because I know there’s more than 2 or 3 types of bookmark. I’m really glad I found the different styles (like the page corner one and popsicle) because they are so creative! Ooh I get what you mean about the 3D but not 3D. I used to have a bunch of those types of bookmarks but I guess I lost them.

    Okkkay how come I’ve never seen these before? THEY’RE GORGEOUS! Can’t decide which ones are my favourites..I just use a normal paper one or whatever I have lying around..Sometimes I use my phone LOL

    Wow, thanks for the bookmark porn post lol! I love it! The metal charm and corner bookmarks are absolutely gorgeous. To be honest, I use my book depository bookmarks, I really love them o_o

    I normally use pieces of paper or calling cards, haha! The popsicle ones are cute too! The other ones will probably damage my book since I just drop them everywhere. And then I’ll lose them. And then I’ll be sad. D:

    I love the corner page bookmarks! My friend made me one and I just think they’re so adorable. Honestly I’m not too crazy about the metal charm and ribbon either. They just look really flimsy and like they’d fall out. I usually just use like a coupon or whatever which is crazy considering how much money I have spent on bookmarks! Seriously, I have a giant box full of them and I never use them at all!

    The page corner one is so pretty! To be honest, even if I buy the prettiest book mark ever I’ll probably just end up loosing it and using a piece of paper xD

    I love the corner page bookmarks! But I usually lose bookmarks, lol, or I don’t need them. I like reading books in one sitting, if I have the time. Or I usually remember page numbers. 🙂

    Darn you, Leigh. I have an obsession with bookmarks and now I have have to go buy some of these xD The metal ones are so pretty but I would worry about losing them too, especially if you are taking books with you places.

    The metal one is so pretty!! *_*
    Usually I just use promotional bookmarks…or scraps of paper if I can’t find any (which happens far too often too!)

  12. 23 Kaitlin May 6, 2014 at 5:28 PM

    I tend to have use a post it or random piece of paper the most. Promotional bookmarks are my favorites, though! 🙂 I’m not a fan of thicker bookmarks, so while I do have one of those 3D bookmarks, I never use it because it’s just so . . . awkward. I’m not a fan of metal or Popsicle bookmarks for the same reason. They’re cute, but they fall out of the book to often. I’ve never used a magnetic one before. I kinda want to get some now to try it out. 😀

    • 24 Leigh (LittleBookStar) May 13, 2014 at 11:03 PM

      The magnetic one are really cool and it doesn’t fall out. 🙂 Yeah I don’t like bookmarks that can easily fall out either although they’re super cute and creative!! I also like to use promotional bookmarks esp. if it matches the book that I am reading.

  13. 25 Nicole @ The Quiet Concert May 16, 2014 at 8:22 AM

    I love fun bookmarks, but I tend to just use whatever promo bookmark I have around. I am jealous of people who create awesome DIY projects. Maybe one day I’ll try to make my own.

  14. 26 agnesev June 14, 2014 at 5:45 AM

    They’re all cute! I’d really love to collect those bookmarks but just as collection. I’d rather use normal marks or simple post-it for because they’re simpler 😀
